About Us

PoochTown was founded with the goal of instilling peace of mind for pet parents when they are unable to personally care for their pets; whether it be for a few hours while running errands or taking care of other family member, or while on vacation. By learning everything there is to know about your pets (no detail is too small or unimportant), PoochTown offers the pet parent a comforting alternative to placing their pet in a kennel atmosphere.

 

It is standard policy here at PoochTown to hire sitters that not only care deeply for animals, but who also maintain a clean background check and driving history. Our sitters are Pet CPR & First Aid Trained and go through extensive training on pet care/body language.  PoochTown sitters are required to engage in continual education; keeping up to date with proven pet care techniques.  Our reputation is everything, and we are committed to keeping it strong.  

 

PoochTown, is Licensed and Bonded/Insured through PSA (Pet Sitters Association) and is a member of NAPPS (National Association of Prof. Pet Sitters) and PUPS (Prof. United Pet Sitters).

Ciara Schmalfeld

Pet sitting Scottsdale

Ciara, started her pet care career as a pet nanny while living in NYC. Ciara’s dedication to outstanding quality care did not go unnoticed; as she had many interested clients. Alas the cold winters did not suit and therefore PoochTown was established in Scottsdale, Arizona.

 

Ciara's experience with animals started as a kid caring for Birds, Rodents, Dogs, Cats, Bugs, Reptiles and a Pig. This passion continued and blossomed into a life of volunteerism at animal rescues. Ciara particularly sough out the most troubled dogs and cats to work with in order to ensure them the best chance at a forever home.

 

No knowledge is ever insignificant when it comes to Ciara’s love of animals. She is dedicated to her education on caring for all variety of animal family members.

Some of her qualifications Include:

       *Graduate of Dog*Tec: Dog Walking Academy

       *Maintains an Arizona's Department of Public Safety: Clearance                          Card Lvl 1 (Fingerprints checked against FBI database)

       *Certified Pet Sitter: National Assoc. of Prof. Pet Sitters

       *Maintains a Maricopa Food Handler’s Card

 

She currently serves parts of SCOTTSDALE & surrounding areas.

Kelsey

Kelsey, a student, comes to PoochTown full of energy and enthusiasm to help care for your

fur babies.  He has experience taking care of a variety of pets, even horses. 

 

With a huge heart for animals, Kelsey rescued her own special needs dog from the streets of Mexico.  Bringing him back from the brink of death to give him the life he deserved.

Kelsey lives in Scottsdale and cares for pets in Scottsdale and surrounding areas.
